Our backyard tent has been a refuge for our hard-working volunteers since March 2020. It has allowed us to sort and distribute fresh produce and other necessities to hundreds of families a week in the rain, sun, and even the blizzards of 2021! This summer it has been a great place for kids' activities and has expanded our house, providing an extra room to work and play.
Sadly, the recent strong storms damaged the tent beyond repair.
This is a big loss for us and our community. To continue to support our families we are looking for a tent replacement or other structure to protect us from the rain, snow and sun. A semi-permanent or permanent fixture we can work under, where we can safely use our outdoor heaters and fans, sort our produce, and continue to provide for the community. Your ideas are welcome!

Thank you Rochelle Meng and the entire event committee and, of course, Midtown Bannockburn!!

Fun drills on each court got everyone moving and interacting as they rotated from court to court.

Our culinary experts and volunteers came together to create a delicious spread for the Tennis on Tap event. Our tennis players really worked up an appetite and loved the yummy food!

The summer is wrapping up but it’s hard to let the good times go!
Talk about making nutrition fun … welcome to Junior Chefs! In RCH’s summer youth program our neighborhood kids made and ate their own snack each week with fruits and vegetables as the star of the show.
We discovered that ANY vegetable with Ranch dressing and Tajin Spice was a hit with the kids. Other favorite ‘snacktivities’ were fruit kabobs, fruit and yogurt parfaits, guacamole, and cucumber boats.
Internships at Roberti Community House are so rewarding!
Meet Hannah Steffey, an Elementary Education major at Lake Forest College. Hannah learned of RCH's Summer Youth Program from her college adviser and quickly embraced the opportunity to expand her education and make an impact.
She led a program for children ages 4-24 and they greatly benefited from her experience and ability to think up crafts, activities, and games. She made summer fun!

RCH is always looking for new interns and can offer experience for a wide variety of college majors. Maybe you know someone looking? Contact volunteerRCH@gmail.com for more information.
