Brian Geffroy, a Haverford College student, is working in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies as he completes his senior thesis.  Brian is examining how varying approaches to teaching civic education affect students' knowledge of, and interest in, politics and the likelihood that they will participate in politics as they grow older. To guide his research, he seeks quantitative information from both educators and their students. If you would be interested in taking part in his surveys (which can be done entirely virtually through Google Polls), please email him at The more data he can obtain, the more substantive his thesis will be. His paper will be shared across our social studies networks and, if circumstances[1] permit, Brian will present his results at the Annual Pennsylvania Social Studies Conference this October. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Brian directly if you have any follow-up questions.
