SOLshare has put its foot forward and is now moving fast to make a radical change in the people's lives who have low or no access to electricity before.  SOLshare has by now more than 18 SOLgrids running in  Bangladesh and more 100 grids will be popping up in the next year only.

The demand for power is increasing exponentially, simultaneously is the demand for using productive appliances. SOLshare now has an increasing number of beneficiaries using DC appliances and low-income rural households are starting to make money out of it.
New DC rice heller in one of our grids in Manikgonj. Happy consumers are learning to use the appliances better every day!
Some of the impression of our SOLtrepreneurs using productive appliances are shown below:
Meet Shathi our SOLtrepreneur!!!!!! Shathi is from one of our very first grids in Shariatpur also the place where the world's first solar P2P grid went online in 2015!!! Shathi used kerosene before for lighting and cooking and it cost her almost a fortune! After she installed our product "SOLbox" she could use electricity for longer hours, more bulbs, a fan, etc that too at a much lower price. Immediately, she started sewing more. Fast forward, today Shathi has her own solar home system and is a proud prosumer. She sells or buys electricity according to her needs and even can cash out money from her SOLbox wallet (piggy bank) from any nearby local shop! Proudly Shathi says - " I am earning money from my Solar Home System (SHS) and this makes me a smart business woman."
New Corporate Collaborations announced:
  • Telecoms giant Telefonica’s Alpha Energy and ME SOLshare partner to evolve peer-to-peer energy distribution technology for off-grid communities
  • Microsoft ScaleUp program (previously known as Microsoft Accelerator) selects SOLshare into their upcoming cohort
  • Japan’s utility TEPCO and SOLshare join forces to advance powerline communication research
Check out SOLshare's Impact Video!!!
SOLshare’s peer-to-peer microgrids have the potential to be replicated in any off-grid area using pre-existing solar home systems right now. With further research and development of its product base, there will be ways to create these grids to allow connection to the national grid as well as a system for feeding-in excess energy. There is a lot of potential for the work and SOLshare will continue to expand. Installations in rural India will begin in Q1 2019! Stay tuned.
SOLshare's international collaboration platform is growing...
