'Ostara' is a name that came to me in meditation years ago, and though I did not know why at the time, I knew my work was to be in service to all this season represents - planting seeds, growing towards the light, breaking free, and renewal. Flowers have always communicated with me and been the most powerful medicine. When I discovered that my Ancestors worshipped flowers, it all clicked into place.
Ostara is a time of balance. It is a time of equal parts light and dark as we celebrate the Spring Equinox. At Mabon (the Winter Solstice), we experienced this same balance, but the light was leaving us. Today, six months later, it is returning. Spring has arrived, and with it comes hope, warmth, and new possibilities. Deep within the cold earth, seeds are beginning to sprout. That time in the magical darkness, in the womb, has prepared us to burst forth and bloom again. What magic, what richness, what abundance!
