Happy Lion's Gate, peeps! This is one of the most powerful, transformative days of the year. The Sun, the star Sirius, and the Pyramids of Giza are all in alignment right now! This alignment creates an opening between the physical and spiritual worlds. This is truly an auspicious, divine, otherworldly celestial event, as these Infinite Energies enable us to carry a greater Light.
During the Lion's Gate, we're able to easily travel through different dimensions and anchor higher frequencies. Now is the time to embrace and invite in a willingness to open to your specific soul/spiritual mission, and allow that to come to you. Sirius' energy allows us to awaken to higher more powerful frequencies that enables us to accelerate our consciousness into the higher realms. Embrace the divine frequencies being showered up on us by opening your heart and leaning into the Unknown. Right now, we are in a constant stream of new energies being downloaded to us from our Infinite Universe. It enables us to activate and tap in to the infinite potential of our Being.
Today, how can you just receive all of this? There is no need to do anything but be open and allowing.
We have been through an intense summer.... I know you know. I want to talk about self-care through stressful, challenging times. Self-care is such a buzzword these days, and the all the hype and hashtags can cause separation and stress. Am I caring for myself correctly? Will that new face mask make me feel better? Ok, I've slathered oil/lotion all over myself... now what? Why isn't this thing that everyone loves working for me? (All things I have thought.)
For me, self-care isn't just about pleasure and indulging in things that make me feel good, like the blogs and listicles will have you believe. It's doing things for myself that support my well-being that aren't quite so glamorous. And, I often have a lot of resistance to it! Cleaning my apartment often gives me a lot of joy, but when it's hot AF out and I'm exhausted from all these retrogrades and eclipses, it's the last thing I want to do. But clutter and dust are magnets for low-vibrational energies, and while it's easier to do nothing sometimes, it just perpetuates those 'blah' or irritated feelings.
Getting down to basics is something that is also really supportive, especially when things feel out of control and/or overwhelming. But since they are such easy things, things that everyone knows, I have a tendency to ignore and dismiss them. Things like, drinking a full glass of water first thing in the morning. Checking in with my breath when I feel challenged, and consciously taking in more oxygen. Making sure I take my flower essences and elixirs daily (this is not a challenge - I just forget! It's so cliche but I actually forget to take my own medicine 🙈). Grounding daily and calling in protective energy fields before I leave the house. Sometimes getting down to basics is enormously helpful and refreshing. Humans need air, earth, fire and water. Which one(s) do you need more of right now?
Since flowers and herbs are my thing, and are how the Universe/Spirit expresses itself to and through me, I want to share some flower essences and medicines that ease stress, trauma and anxiety.
• Star of Bethlehem – The remedy for the after-effects of shock and clearing trauma.
• Black-eyed Susan – A powerful essence for unlocking areas of old trauma or pain. It reaches into the past to create a new lineage and heal familial rifts. It clears karma and heals anger and guilt.
• Elm – When you feel overwhelmed, depressed, and/or exhausted.
• Cherry Blossom – Fills the heart with optimism and enthusiasm. It helps us rediscover the beauty and goodness of life, and release the negativity and darkness surrounding us.
• Yarrow – Clears your energy fields, creates White Light personal boundary protection.
• Rose – Opens and heals the heart. Rose amplifies the love we carry inside our hearts, for ourselves and for all expressions of the universe.
Flower essences are light medicine that work on the vibrational levels. It is subtle, yet powerful energy medicine that addresses imbalances in our energetic fields and bring us to a state of wholeness. They are perfectly paired with all types of herbal medicine, healing and/or therapy. Flower essences work best when taking 3-4 drops, 3 or 4 times a day. I offer many of these in my Apothecary, and I also recommend One Willow Apothecaries or FES essences. (And on August 23rd, if you are in the area, I am teaching a class on how to make your own essences at BreadxButta's storefront!)
• Motherwort – calming, protective, fortifying
• Skullcap – soothes nerves, grounding, calms the nervous system
• St. John’s Wort – mood booster, mild pain reliever
• Passionflower – mild pain reliever and sedative
• Lemon Balm – light, uplifting, clarifying
• Rose – soothes heart and emotions, uplifting, supportive
An quick, easy way to use these plant allies is to make a tea (steeped in hot water for 10 mins) or an infusion (steeped for 4-12 hours). Since it's so hot out these days, I let it cool down and pour it over ice. These all also work well in tinctures, infused honeys, oils or oxymels. Making infusions is one of my favorite forms of self-care! It's really fun to throw in different combinations of herbs using my intuition.
Ok peeps. I hope you have a beautiful, light-filled day. Remember that all of this is happening for our highest and best good. Surrender when things get tough and allow yourself to move through it however you need to move through it. If you need extra support, please reach out to schedule a 1:1 session or come to a healing circle. I am here to help.
