Legislative Update
Nikki Fried, Esq., President of Igniting Florida, works closely with Florida lawmakers and regulators throughout the country directly advocating various legislative and regulatory initiatives identified by clients. During the 2016 Legislative Session, Ms. Fried played an integral role in the passage of HB 307, relating to the usage of medical marijuana for those who are terminally ill.  Ms. Fried has become one of most visible faces and key lobbyists in Florida’s burgeoning medical cannabis industry.

"As week 4 of the 2017 Legislative Session concludes, medical marijuana legislation to implement Amendment 2 has begun to move.  HB 1397, by House Majority Leader Ray Rodrigues, passed this Wednesday with a vote of 14-1 in the House Health Quality Subcommittee.  HB 1397 has drawn significant scrutiny and criticism from patient advocacy groups and Amendment 2 organizers as being too restrictive and creating significant barriers to patients."
