Season's greetings from everyone at Birmingham Community Matters

Here are details of several grants, events, volunteering opportunities and even a job that we didn't want you to miss due to the holidays.

Some have short deadlines so please take a look before yule-log off (sorry).

Scroll down for a festive bundle from BCM. We'll wish you a merry Christmas at the bottom ...
Leadership coaching and funding from the Weston Charity Awards
Small charities in Birmingham could benefit from a year of leadership coaching from business mentors, along with £6,500 funding.

Weston Charity Awards are for frontline charities working in projects involving community, welfare or youth. Run by the Garfield Weston Foundation with Pilotlight, the awards are open to charities with an income of under £5m.

The application process is relatively quick, and open now until Friday 10 January 2020.

You will find more details and the application form at

Part-time role: Community Development Officer for the Pioneer Group
We've made links with the Pioneer Group recently and we're looking forward to working with the team in 2020.
The community-led neighbourhood regeneration organisation is currently looking for a part-time Community Development Officer.
The Pioneer Group seeks someone who can build "strong and effective links with strategic partners and lead on community research programmes for neighbourhood planning".

'A Celebration of a City': Tuesday 14 January

On Tuesday 14 January (11am to 2.30pm), Birmingham We Are will be holding its fourth annual showcase of Birmingham's culture, creativity, history and community.
In the Banqueting Suite at Birmingham City Council House, more than 100 people and organisations from across the city will be displaying their work. That includes the BCM team - we'll be there with a stand. We're also honoured to have been nominated for a People with Passion Award; the winners will be announced on the day.
We'd love to see you there. You can register to attend via this Eventbrite listing.
The Norton Foundation: applications open for capital grants
