Progressive Yamhill: Acting Together Locally
View this email in your browser

First of all, welcome to the nearly 150 new members who have joined our Facebook group in the last 14 days!  The admins and moderators have been busy answering the door and letting people in all week, and we're thrilled to be so close to our original goal of 1,000 members before the 2020 election.  1,050 members would represent 1% of the Yamhill County population.

So what else happened this week?

Volunteer Opportunities
Does the idea of elected office seem too daunting?  Maybe a volunteer position on a board is more your speed.
Progressive Yamhill is a non-partisan group with a regional focus on Yamhill County politics at the city, county, and state level, as well as a vehicle to connect with neighbors on issues and actions at a federal level.  Our goal is to connect, educate, inform, and actively participate in the creation of a local community that shares and supports our mission.  You can learn more about our origin, and our group, at our website.

Our growing Facebook Group is 'Private', meaning that unless you are in the group, you cannot search for it, see anything anyone posts in it, or even find out who else is a member.  We take our members privacy seriously and have a team of moderators who vet every new member before adding them.  In order to enable new members to find us, and to communicate key events to the public, we also have a public Facebook Page.  If you would like to join, and the first link didn't work for you, use the second link and follow the instructions to let us know!
We Are engaged residents and friends of Yamhill Valley who believe in developing a community that both respects and creates equity, inclusion, safety and freedom from fear & hate for all. Our purpose is to educate & inform, and to actively participate in the creation of a local climate in support of these beliefs.
