Habitat for Humanity La Crosse
and ReStore Happenings

With the Governor’s extension of the “Safer at Home” order, our Office and ReStore will remain closed. With the ease of some of the restrictions, we are working on plans and timelines to launch online ReStore sales, schedule donation pick-ups, and accept drop-off donations.

The following operations will be limited through at least May 26:
  • The ReStore will be closed to the public until June 3, but we will be working through a gradual reopening process that includes strict guidelines for staff and public safety.
  • Construction sites will gradually be reopening with strict guidelines regarding safety and social distancing.
  • All volunteer activities continue to be suspended.
  • Our 3181 Berlin Street office will remain closed.
     
Event cancellations will be extended through May 26:
  • The Green Bay Packer Tailgate Tour fundraiser scheduled for May 15 has been cancelled.
  • All committee meetings between now and May 26.
  • All on-site construction volunteer teams scheduled between now and May 26.
  • All Volunteer Orientation trainings scheduled between now and May 26.
     
ReStore Reopening Timeline:

Week One - April 28-May 2
  • Deep cleaning and sanitizing of the ReStore.
  • Train staff on sanitizing and physical distancing from public and staff interactions.
Week Two – May 5-9
  • ReStore will begin selling limited items online for curbside pickup.
Week Three – May 12-16
  • ReStore will begin limited local pick-ups of donated items.
Week Four – May 19-23
  • ReStore will expand scope of local pick-ups of donated items
Week Five – May 26-30
  • ReStore will begin accepting donations drop-offs at the store during limited hours.
Week Six – June 3
  • ReStore reopens to the public with limited hours and no volunteers.

Zoom Meetings with Goats 
Need a little something new in work or family online meeting? How about adorable goats!
These are uncertain times and a lot of people are stressed and operating in a lot of online meetings. One of our staff has goats and she will share them for your meeting as a fundraiser for us!

Hot Rod for Habitat Raffle has been POSTPONED


With community health as a top priority, Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area wants to ensure that we keep everyone’s safety in the forefront of our minds.
 
Due to COVID-19, we have postponed the Hot Rod for Habitat Raffle Drawing. The new date for the drawing will be:
 
Saturday, October 24, 2020
3:00 pm at the Habitat ReStore
3181 Berlin Drive, La Crosse, WI 54601
 
Need not be present to win

Couleecap 

Providing just-in-time critical bill payment assistance for low-wage workers in La Crosse and Vernon County who have lost or reduced their employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Outreach will be focused on people laid off from service or retail industries, and funding will be provided to help with critical bills, such as rent, car payments, life-critical prescription costs, utility bills, and more.
