Welcome to the 6th edition of the Pozhet e-newsletter

Given the impact of COVID-19, Pozhet, like many other services, is facing unprecedented challenges, for both community engagement and general service provision.
In this edition, we are very blessed to have Yasser, a Pozhet client sharing his insights into the COVID-19 pandemic and implications to his mental, social and physical wellbeing.  He shares his strategies for overcoming the challenges presented by COVID-19, with the same resilience he has applied throughout his very incredible life.  His strength and courage certainly inspire us to continue what we do.
There are updates on COVID-19 response initiated by Blood Borne Viruses workforce and where you can get the most up-to-date information. We feature a short article on telehealth ensuring you are best placed to assist clients who require support from a primary health care provider.
Check out our articles on HIV Testing Week (1 – 7 June) and Men’s Health Week (15 – 21 June). With the current challenges, it is understandable that these health awareness weeks will look very different this year. Finally, we bring you updates on a few initiatives Pozhet has recently launched including, Pozhet Factsheets: HIV and Having a Baby and HIV and Relationships, a film, Could It Be HIV? and a book, There is something I have to tell you…
In solidarity, particularly during these challenging times, take care and stay safe!
