BCP announce OPEN AUDITIONS for the third play of their 2017 / 2018 Season: Alan Bennett’s People.
In this entertaining, funny and touching play Alan Bennett successfully blends satire with nostalgia to produce a thought-provoking piece of theatre.
Dorothy’s inheritance is an old, run-down mansion she can’t afford to maintain. She and her sister’s attempts at resolving the issue include gifting it to the National Trust, selling to a property developer, and even film-making (of a less than salubrious nature) taking full advantage of the historic four-poster bed.
Dorothy – ex-model, who has inherited the mansion and its financial problems (70s)
Iris – Dorothy’s long-standing companion (70s)
June – Dorothy’s younger sister and Archdeacon of Huddersfield (50s-60s)
Bevan – A property developer (30s-40s)
