Dear <<First Name>>,
While City Council meetings are paused through July 27, my team and I are not resting. We are out in your neighborhoods and working diligently on behalf of 13th District residents with many exciting projects and events in store for the month.
As we kick off July, I want to invite you to my first in-person Councilmember in Your Corner (CYC) event since the start of the pandemic, happening this Saturday, July 10, at 9am at Rockwood Community Park - 1571 Rockwood Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026 - in Historic Filipinotown. The event will include:
- A community clean-up in partnership with local residents
- Door-to-door canvassing to connect community members with important city services
- Tree trimming and maintenance performed by the City’s Urban Forestry Division
Having cut my teeth as a community activist before arriving at City Hall, I began organizing these events as soon as I took office in 2013 to better connect 13th District residents with City Hall services.
Even during the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, I continued the CYC tradition in a virtual setting, highlighting each 13th District neighborhood, in addition to sharing important information about critical initiatives being spearheaded by my office, like food resources and COVID-19 testing.
My team and I are passionate about strengthening and beautifying our communities, and we welcome the ability to once again meet in-person. I hope you will take a moment to RSVP and join me, along with your neighbors, this Saturday, July 10, at 9am at Rockwood Community Park.
For further questions and information, please contact my Historic Filipinotown Field Deputy Juan Fregoso at (213) 207-3015.
We’re here to serve.
With kind regards,

MITCH O'FARRELL
