Dear <<First Name>>,
Today, we took an important step forward to advance more comprehensive housing solutions throughout the 13th Council District.
At this morning’s City Council meeting, I led the vote to select a project team who will help repurpose city property into up to 108 units of supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness.
Located at 1140 - 1152 North Glendale Boulevard and 1141 - 1155 Lemoyne Street, the project will provide wraparound services in a safe, secure managed environment, and furthers my mission of creating strong public spaces with a proposed public, full sized open-air basketball court.
The road leading to today’s selection of the project team has not been without challenges. But addressing the humanitarian crisis on our streets takes a level of resolve that requires us to meet and overcome every obstacle.
When built, this project will join the hundreds of units of permanent supportive housing across the 13th District. When it comes to providing resources to those in need, I have not wavered nor shied away from taking action. This is what the moment demands and I fully intend to meet it.
I’m thankful to my team for overseeing years of outreach that preceded today’s vote, as well as the residents of the 13th District who have responded with compassion and said yes to more services and housing.
I will share more updates soon.
Kind regards,
MITCH O'FARRELL
