In our home there is a new baby. Our world has been changed and patterns of our days altered by this new tiny human. We have older children and have done the baby phase before, yet each time I am surprised by the overwhelming responsibility I feel during this phase of life when they are so completely dependant on you. It often takes this phase to remind me how completely dependant we all really are on God. This baby looks to me to meet all her needs, she doesn’t think to herself 'don’t worry mom I got this', or 'it’s ok Mom I’ll do it on my own'. No she just relies on me meeting every need she may have. How often in life I find I am blinded to my own humbling need for God in every aspect of my life. I often can lean on my own knowledge or abilities and think those will get me through. In John 15 we are reminded that 'apart from God we can do nothing'. As we head towards a new summer season we as the committee are keenly aware of Bethel’s need for God’s provision. The provision of staff, of funds, of campers, and this year the provision for a building project to occur. These sometimes seem too big, like we are asking for too much. But we believe in the God who turned water to wine, opened the eyes of the blind, raised the dead from the grave. Year after year God shows his provision to Bethel. Once again we ask that you join with us and consider how you can be part of Gods provision. Can you give a week of your time, drive a camper to camp, encourage a staff member with words of affirmation, pray from home over the hundreds of kids that will walk the campgrounds this summer. We have only to pray, ask, believe!
