Welcome to the third edition of the Arlyce Cleveland, Ltd. Newsletter. Thanks for joining us!
 
Tax Season is officially underway and returns have started coming in. 

If you haven't received one already, and would like an organizer to assist in your tax preparation, they can be found on our website. Access one by clicking here: 2016 Tax Organizer

In an effort to assist our clients, our website is up to date with tools that can help answer your tax questions.  We have posted a blog on our site detailing charitable donations; what qualifies, what you need to submit as proof of donation; as well as a guide to assist your documentation. We have also added  a secure client portal feature to our site.  This will provide our clients with an easy means of uploading their sensitive tax information to us.  If this is something you would like us to set up for you, please email: jessica@accounting-offices.net.  She will create a portal for you, and provide detailed instructions for use.

As a reminder to all of our valued clients: we want to ensure we are providing the best service and turnaround time possible, so from February 1st-April 18th, we will have set times for returning your calls and emails: We will be returning and taking calls from 9-10 every morning, and we will return emails from 3-4 in the afternoon. Please be mindful of this and remember, you can direct many of your inquiries to our administrative team as they are available and happy to assist you from 8-5! As stated below: Next year the state of MN will require your state identification number to be part of your tax return. In an effort to be proactive we will ask for ID’s this tax year. There’s also due diligence requirements for dependents, so you will need to provide a birth certificate and/ or school records for your dependents. See our website for full details regarding this law.
Important Tax Law Updates:
  • Partnership returns (Form 1065) will be due March 15th. A change from April 15th last year.
 
  • Next year the State of MN will require your state identification number to be a part of your tax return. They will also require due diligence requirements for your dependents, so you will need to provide a birth certificate and or school records. 
In Other News:
If you are getting your tax return filed early, remember that you may need to file your property tax refund separate. Please provide the property tax form to us as soon as you receive it so we can ensure your tax statement is filed.

A Word from our Fitness Nutrition Expert:

As most of you know, it's a busy time of year around here! However; our health is so important to remember, especially when our lives get busy and we're stressed to our peak. Maintaining our exercise program and keeping our diets clean will work wonders to keep our minds sharp. How you ask, do you keep a clean diet and exercise routine when you are working around the clock?

Here are a few tips to doing just that:

1. Preparation: Find a few hours of the week, whether it be a night you can get home early or an early morning/ mid afternoon weekend day and cook. Prepare the meals you will need to get you through the week. These can be as simple as baking a few chicken breasts and some vegetables of your choice and splitting them up for the week. 

2. Planning: Similar to number one, but the key to being successful in your program is knowing when you plan to make time to exercise and cooking. It may mean sacrificing TV time but you won't regret making time for even a 20 minute workout.

3. Don't overthink everything. like I said earlier food prep can be simple...think lean proteins and vegetables, and workouts can be short...anything that gets you moving and your heart rate up!

You will be amazed at the difference these few simple habits will make!
