Labor Day Weekend DC Aug 30-Sep 2, 2019

Relax and Enjoy all that DC has to offer this Labor Day Weekend. Our Labor Day Weekend Guide contains special events including parades and concerts celebrating the day along with events and activities happening in the DC Metro Region.

1 Henry IV

Folger Theatre
Sep 3 - Oct 13

Honor is a two-edged sword. Prince Hal spends his days carousing in seedy taverns with criminals and lowly commoners, much to the dismay of his father, King Henry IV. Winding from the Boar's Head Tavern to the shadows of Gad's Hill, Hal's path to the throne may be unusual, but it eventually leads him to the one place where questions of honor and reputation come to a head: the battlefield.

The REACH Opening Festival

The Kennedy Center
September 7 – 22

Two weeks of FREE performances and activities celebrating the new expansion of The Kennedy Center campus called the REACH. These innovative indoor and outdoor spaces put YOU at the center of the art—where you can chart your own course and connect what moves you to creative experiences beyond imagination.

Discover how the Kennedy Center is forging new ways for artists, community groups, and YOU to come together to create and share joyous and meaningful moments, learn from each other, and win hearts and minds through the power of the arts. It all begins with opening your mind to the REACH Opening Festival, and everyone is invited!

REMIX: The Future is Female

Thu, Sep 26 @ 6pm

The happy hour event is all about music, art and women celebrating women. Bring your bae, toast your sisters and tour the exhibition "Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence" while DJ Farrah Flosscett spins female-centric grooves. Ain't no party like the Woman's Party! This program is part of the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative, "Because of Her Story," and the Smithsonian Year of Music.
