Weekly news

Sunday 23 February 2020

Welcome to your weekly newsletter from Crofton Park Baptist Church. This week Veronica Atkins is leading our service and Steve Ewing is preaching.

What on earth am I here for?

It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone

Mission Prayer

Our mission prayer this week is for Jo Sharples

Jo Sharples works as a missionary in South Africa. Jo used to attend Crofton Park Baptist Church before she was called to do God’s work in South Africa with the support of the church.

She is currently running Human Trafficking awareness sessions to college students and is developing a Prayer ministry group at her local church in Cape Town.

Purpose Driven Life - Coming soon

This 6 week Sunday teaching and small group series begins today, exploring how the quest for personal fulfilment, satisfaction and meaning can only be found in understanding and doing what God placed us on earth to do; through living the great commandment and the great commission of Jesus. During the duration of the course, there will be an opportunity to be part of a short-term small group. Listen out for more information during the service this Sunday.

Digital skills - social media 101

The first digital skills workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 10am at Crofton Park Baptist Church and will cover the basics of using social media safely and effectively. We will look at how to set yourself up on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. How you can look after your information and how to keep your children safe online. This session will suit people of any age who have never used social media or aren't quite sure if they are using it in the right way. It will also suit parents who might want some tips on how to keep their kids safe online. Places are free for church members and £5 for non-members. Visit our website and Facebook page for more details or contact Clement on 07805 900571 or email

Standing in the gap

Pray for the victims of hate crimes and for the hearts of those who carry out these acts. Pray for our leaders to speak out against hate and not use it for their own political gains.

Pray for a community spirit in our borough where neighbours aren't afraid to extend a helping hand.

Send in your announcement for the newsletter by Wednesday to be included in the next issue.
