Welcome to your weekly newsletter from Crofton Park Baptist Church! This week Judith Seymour is leading our Harvest Service. Join us on our Facebook page at 10.30am this Sunday or visit our website or subscribe to our channel on YouTube to get an alert when we go live. Set a reminder now and please share the link with friends and family. The church is also open to a limited number of worshippers to attend.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7
This week we are praying for LewCAS
LewCAS stands for Lewisham Churches for Asylum Seekers. LewCAS provides support in form of food supplies and other practical aid to asylum seekers in the borough.
Communion Service - 11 October
Next week is communion service. If you are watching online you can join in with a small red drink and a piece of bread and cracker. We will be sharing information about what communion will look like for attendees at church.
Volunteers urgently needed
We urgently need volunteers to sign up for the cleaning rota so that we can clean the church after Sunday service. As we need to do more cleaning than usual due to the government regulations we will need at least three volunteers a week. Please speak to Helen, fill in this form on our website or email her - firstname.lastname@example.org, if you can spare the time. Many hands make light work.
Church is open
The church building is open for worship every Sunday.
The church doors will open at 10am to allow plenty of time for people to settle in before the service.
The car park will be closed so if you are driving to church you will need to park on Huxbear Road or Brockley Grove.
We will continue to provide a pre-recorded online service for those who need to or would prefer to, stay at home.
Thank you to all of you who continue to send in your offerings and tithes online. If you are a regular giver or wish to make a donation you can do so online through our website. It's safe, secure and is another way of reducing the risk of spreading contamination through the use of cash or cheques. As ever, you are not obliged to give but if it is your wish to, this route is open to you.
Once again we are having a Home and Away focus for our Thanksgiving at Harvest time.
The current world-crisis has resulted in many more people struggling to get by. If you can, give cash/cheques or online donation, these will go to Tear Fund, who are working all over the world to relieve pandemic suffering. If you would rather give actual goods, these will go to the asylum seekers of LEWCAS. There's been an increased demand for the following items but anything you can give will be greatly appreciated:
Small tinned fish
Toiletries and Sanitary Towels
If you are aware of any pastoral issues that you feel the church pastoral team should be aware of, please contact Steve or a member of the Leadership Team.
