THIS WEEK

Gathering Again !!

'I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.'
Psalm 122:1

Mission Prayer

This week we are praying for SAT7

Through satellite television, SAT7 enable the Church in North Africa and the Middle East to hear the Word of God. They teach and encourage believers, whilst sharing a positive Christian vision for life and society. They're making the gospel and the church visible to millions of families who would otherwise not have access to it, in places where Christians often remain invisible to society.

Volunteers urgently needed

We urgently need volunteers to sign up for the cleaning rota so that we can clean the church after Sunday service. As we need to do more cleaning than usual due to the government regulations we will need at least three volunteers a week. Please speak to Helen, fill in this form on our website or email her - helen.bogle@croftonpark.org.uk, if you can spare the time. Many hands make light work.

Church reopening plans

We are now pleased to inform you that we will reopen our church building for Sunday morning worship on 20th September.

  • The church doors will open at 10am to allow plenty of time for people to settle in before the service.
  • The car park will be closed so if you are driving to church you will need to park on Huxbear Road or Brockley Grove.
  • We will continue to provide a prerecorded online service for those who need to or would prefer to, stay at home.

Zoom quiz

If you would like to take part in a Zoom quiz hosted by Shola the first one will take place on Friday 9th October at the usual time of 7.30pm.
Sign up for Zoom details on our website.

Giving your offering online

Thank you to all of you who continue to send in your offerings and tithes online. If you are a regular giver or wish to make a donation you can do so online through our website. It's safe, secure and is another way of reducing the risk of spreading contamination through the use of cash or cheques. As ever, you are not obliged to give but if it is your wish to, this route is open to you.

London City Mission is recruiting

They are also recruiting Team Leaders who are passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus in some of the hardest to reach areas and people groups. They have a five-year strategy to envision and equip churches for mission. Find out more about this role here.
Closing date for this application: Wednesday, 7th October 2020.

Harvest is Sunday 4th October

Once again we are having a Home and Away focus for our Thanksgiving at Harvest time.
The current world-crisis has resulted in many more people struggling to get by. If you can, give cash/cheques or online donation, these will go to Tear Fund, who are working all over the world to relieve pandemic suffering. If you would rather give actual goods, these will go to the asylum seekers of LEWCAS. There's been an increased demand for the following items but anything you can give will be greatly appreciated:
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Corned beef
  • Small tinned fish
  • Toiletries and Sanitary Towels
  • Cereal
  • Washing-up Liquid

Standing in the gap

Pray for the government to be led by God's wisdom and guidance in determining the course of the nation through the pandemic and Brexit negotiations.

Pray for the refugees in Greece displaced by fire in their camps and also the people of the Western US, also displaced by ongoing ravaging fires.

Send in your announcement for the newsletter by Wednesday to be included in the next issue.
