When there's no other way

‘He went on a little farther and fell to the ground. He prayed that, if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting him might pass him by. "Abba, Father," he cried out, "everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine"’
Mark 14:36

Mission Prayer

This week we are praying for Compassion UK

Through Compassion UK we sponsor four children living in some of the poorest countries in the world. They provide medical care and education all through the church in their local setting.

Thank you to all of you who continue to send in your offerings and tithes online. If you are a regular giver or wish to make a donation you can do so online through our website. It's safe, secure and is another way of reducing the risk of spreading contamination through the use of cash or cheques. As ever, you are not obliged to give but if it is your wish to, this route is open to you.

Census Day 2021

Census Day is 21 March 2021 - that's tomorrow. It's important you complete the census as it is required by law. Don't risk a fine.  You would have been sent a letter with a reference earlier this month. You can find out more information about the census online at People can also ask anyone they trust to help them fill in the form or get an appointment at one of the two local Census Support Centres - at Action for Community Development, 9 Deptford Church Street, SE8 4RX or Crofton Park Library, 375 Brockley Road, SE4 2AG.

Church Is Open

Crofton Park Baptist Church is open for worship again. We look forward to welcoming many of you back from today and we hope others among you will now feel able to come as well.
Please be assured that everything remains in place to ensure as safe an environment as possible for those who attend. At least for the time being, the same health, hygiene and social distancing measures as in November will remain in place.
While this is good news for those who feel able to come and join us, we also recognise that some of you may quite understandably not feel able to do so yet. We will therefore continue to provide a livestream of the Sunday service via the usual channels, which can also be viewed later as a recording.

Where You Go, I Will Go - new study on the book of Ruth

Where You Go, I Will Go is a 40-day series of Bible studies, reflections and prayers on the book of Ruth. In the Bible Ruth helps her mother-in-law, Naomi, find protection after their husbands die. Ruth is subsequently mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew.
As we've been studying the Book of Ruth over the past few weeks you might find this series of Bible studies to go through over the lent period. The book is available to order on the Baptist Union Website.
