Weekly news

Sunday 11 August 2019

Welcome to your weekly newsletter from Crofton Park Baptist Church. This week Clement Oke is leading the service and Carol Bostridge is preaching.

Importance of Words, Actions and God in Action

"So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it,"
Isaiah 55:11

Mission Prayer

Our mission prayer this week is for LewCAS

Thank you to those who regularly bring donations to take to St John’s Church, Lewisham, for our LewCAS clients.
If you are unsure what to buy, here are the favourites, which we often have to purchase as not enough is donated:

  • Dry Spaghetti 500g or 1kg (not in tins, and preferred to other pasta)
  • Packs of 40 teabags
  • Jars of instant coffee
  • Tinned tuna in oil
  • Tins of corned beef (always preferred to other meats!)
  • Bars of soap or hand wash
  • Tins of fruit (please, not soup)
  • Toilet rolls

Welcome Inn this week

Welcome Inn tea this Wednesday is from 2 – 4 pm. Anyone is welcome and it will be served in the lounge.

Ladies prayer breakfast

Nwabs, Judith and Maudlyn will be hosting a ladies prayer breakfast on Saturday 21st Sept, 9.45am - 12.30pm.  As well as sharing in sumptuous breakfast together, we will spend plenty of time lingering in God's presence, seeking a deeper encounter with Him through - worship, God's word and prayer ministry. All ladies are welcome, especially if you desire to experience more of God in your life at this time. You can invite a friend to come along too.  A donation of at least £5 will be appreciated to cover the costs. Please talk to Nwabs or Judith to book your place.

A message from Compassion

The Compassion Experience, will take place in Sidcup this September. It's a unique journey into the real-life story of Patience, and how her life was transformed from poverty to possibility.

We need volunteers!

We're passionate about sharing Patience's story and enabling families to start conversations about poverty - but we need volunteers to make it happen! We need friendly folk, like you, to help welcome visitors, direct queues and encourage conversations. Whether you're able to volunteer or not, we would love to welcome you, and your friends and family to visit. Hear Patience's experience of growing up in poverty and how her life was transformed through the work of Compassion.
