Only the beginning - Ascension

"God exalted him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father "
Philippians 2:9-11

Mission Prayer

This week we are praying for Compassion

Certain members of our church support four young people through the Christian child development charity Compassion UK. Two boys and two girls are based in Thailand, East Indonesia, Haiti and Tanzania. The funding provides education, school books and uniform, health care and the support of a local church. A gift is given for their birthdays and this continues until they begin work or finish education at 22 years. As the coronavirus pandemic spreads round the world, those who are poorest suffer the most, so today we pray for our children and their families in need.

Giving your offering online

Thank you to all of you who continue to send in your offerings and tithes online. If you are a regular giver or wish to make a donation you can do so online through our website. It's safe, secure and is another way of reducing the risk of spreading contamination through the use of cash or cheques. As ever, you are not obliged to give but if it is your wish to, this route is open to you.

Sponsor Judith - Unlock Walk goes virtual

Unlock is a Christian charity that supports inner city churches of any denomination to bring the Bible to ‘text-shy’ and ‘non-book learners. We usually have four of our members take part in the Unlock Walk to help raise money for this charity but not this year. Find out more Unlock Urban website.
However, Judith will be taking part so please support her and those who would've taken part by giving generously through our website or contact her. Thank you to those who have already given.

Pray for Leah

Leah Sharibu was among the 110 girls kidnapped by a splinter group of Boko Haram in Nigeria. She has been in captivity for the past two years, refusing to renounce her Christian faith in exchange for her release. To mark her 17th birthday we are joining others praying for her release from captivity. Find out more by visiting the CSW website.

Pray for Leah Sharibu on her 17th birthday

LBA's leadership year

The LBA’s Leadership Year is an exciting internship programme for 18-25 year olds who wish to explore leadership in today’s urban Baptist context. The programme will run for one academic year (Sept ‘20 - May ‘21), and offer the opportunity for young adults to explore, experience and better understand leadership within the diverse context of our LBA.
