Welcome to your weekly newsletter from Crofton Park Baptist Church. This week Steve Ewing is leading our service and preaching.

Authentic discipleship - Transforming

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you to the very end of the age"
Matthew 28:18-20

Mission Prayer

Our mission prayer this week is for Compassion

Compassion is a children's charity. Nearly 400 million children are currently living in extreme poverty. They’re being denied the right to grow up strong and healthy. Robbed of their time to play and imagine. And prevented from sitting in a classroom and learning. Compassion gives children born into the toughest of circumstances the opportunities they deserve.

CPBC Annual General Meeting

Our annual members' general meeting will take at 4pm on the 26th January 2020 in the church beginning with refreshments and an opportunity to reflect on 2019. This will be an opportunity to find out what we achieved through God’s grace in the past year.
Copies of the agenda and minutes from the October Church Meeting are available this morning for those who have not already received them by email.

CPBC Month of Prayer

This is the last week of the month of prayer for Crofton Park Baptist Church. Why notfind a prayer partner or prayer triplet to arrange to meet together with during the month? Prayer cards, with prayer points for each day of the week, are now available.

Compassion appeal

We sponsor four children through the Compassion programme by regular donations from a few church members. This is an appeal for those who have volunteered to donate to do so regularly so we can continue to do God's work in the lives of these children. If you would like to join us in regularly contributing whatever you can afford please speak to Clement or Judith.
The more of us there are, the more we can make a difference in the lives of these children and in turn, their families and communities.

Pastoral Team Meeting

Members of the pastoral team are reminded that we are meeting this Wednesday (29th January) at 10am in the Church Lounge.

Digital skills - social media 101

The first digital skills workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 10am at Crofton Park Baptist Church and will cover the basics of using social media safely and effectively. We will look at how to set yourself up on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. How you can look after your information and how to keep your children safe online. This session will suit people of any age who have never used social media or aren't quite sure if they are using it in the right way. It will also suit parents who might want some tips on how to keep their kids safe online. Places are free for church members and £5 for non-members. Contact Clement on 07805 900571 or email

Standing in the gap

Pray for our city as we battle with violent crime every week. Pray that God protects those who protect us and changes the heart of those who would cause harm to others.

Pray for the future of the United Kingdom as we leave the EU in the next week. Pray for a smooth transition and wisdom for our leaders.
Send in your announcement for the newsletter by Wednesday to be included in the next issue.
