Hope in strange times

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
Psalm 91:5-7

Mission Prayer

Our mission prayer this week is for Compassion

Compassion UK helps children throughout the world achieve their potential by releasing them from poverty through medical assistance, education and the power of Jesus' name.

We sponsor four children through donations from our church members and we will be praying for the work of Compassion as well as those children who benefit from the programme.

If you would like to support us, please contact Judith or Clement.

Quarterly Church Prayer Meeting - cancelled

Our next quarterly church prayer meeting scheduled for Saturday 28th March at 10am will no longer take place.
We will be sharing prayer points which you can focus on at this time. If you would like to pair up or form a group to pray together over the phone or WhatsApp please do so. This article on our website has some useful tips on setting up an online video calling group.

Coronavirus - looking after yourself and others

The current strain of coronavirus (Covid-19) is continuing to spread and we have been monitoring the advice from Public Health England and the London Baptist Association.
Please remember to:
  • wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, regularly during the day or use hand sanitiser
  • catch your sneezes in a tissue and dispose of it immediately
  • avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • if you feel unwell, stay at home
If you do have coughs or sneezes please refrain from handshaking or embracing others. Also please don't be offended if someone refuses a handshake or hug.
We will continue to pray for all our sisters and brothers across the world who have been, and are continuing to be, affected by COVID-19.  We pray that all will know God’s overwhelming, steadfast love.

Help in present times

If you or someone you know is self-isolating, there are a number of groups that can help with shopping, a friendly phone call or running urgent errands. Visit Covid-19 Mutual Aid website to see what groups are in your area.

Please note that the home landline telephone number for Steve and Nwabs has changed. The new number is 020 8690 5435.

Keeping in touch

In this current situation, it could be a challenge keeping in touch with friends and family. The leadership team will be making every effort to keep in touch with our members and church attendees. If you know of anyone who could do with a call, let us know by emailing
If you are looking for creative ways to keep in touch using your phone or tablet read this article on our website.

Standing in the gap

Pray for people in isolation and for those suffering the effects of the virus.

Pray for the families and people who will fall through the cracks of the government’s assistance packages. Pray that volunteers and other organisations will be able to provide the safety net for them.

Pray for those working on the frontline at risk of infection from Covid-19. Pray for our GPs, nurses, emergency doctors and first responders.

Pray that we can be the beacon of light in our community where all seems dark and confused.

Send in your announcement for the newsletter by Wednesday to be included in the next issue.
