Church still under pressure - Be ready!

(Urgent priorities and obedience in the face of the future)
'May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ'
2 Thessalonians 3:5

Olive Emptage

The funeral service for Olive will take place at Honor Oak Crematorium on Tuesday 8th September at 11.30am. At this stage, it's uncertain how many people will be allowed to attend the service, so if you are interested in attending, please do contact Carol (020 8690 1254) and check with her first. Otherwise you can use this live link to view Olive's funeral on Tuesday and for 28 days later. Use username Kadi0988 and password 876100.

Mission Prayer

This week we are praying for Street Pastors

Street Pastors engage with people on the streets to care for them, listen to them and help them. They work together with other partners in the night-time economy to make communities safer.
Whichever context they are in, street pastors offer reassurance, safety and support through listening, caring and helping. They work together with other partners to make communities safer.

Volunteers urgently needed

We urgently need volunteers to sign up for the cleaning rota so that we can clean the church after Sunday service. As we need to do more cleaning than usual due to the government regulations we will need at least three volunteers a week. Please speak to Helen or email her, if you can spare the time. Many hands make light work.

Church reopening plans

We are now pleased to inform you that subject to no subsequent reintroduction of restrictions on places of worship, we will reopen our church building for Sunday morning worship on 20 September.  You should have received a letter outlining the changes that are being introduced to comply with government regulations and in order to create as safe an environment as possible. At the same time, we will continue to provide a prerecorded online service for those who need to or would prefer to, stay at home.

Zoom quiz

If you would like to take part in a Zoom quiz hosted by Shola this month please email The date and time will be announced soon.

Giving your offering online

Thank you to all of you who continue to send in your offerings and tithes online. If you are a regular giver or wish to make a donation you can do so online through our website. It's safe, secure and is another way of reducing the risk of spreading contamination through the use of cash or cheques. As ever, you are not obliged to give but if it is your wish to, this route is open to you.

Communion Service

There will be a communion service next Sunday so please prepare for it by having a small red drink and piece of bread to hand so we can share together.

Share your lockdown experience

Would you like to share your positive experiences over the lockdown? We would like to create a compilation of positive stories to share with everyone when church reopens on the 20th of September.
In the absence of congregational singing, we would like to invite people to self-record very short (1-2 minutes) messages saying what's been difficult for you in lockdown, what's been good and a blessing, and finally, how God has spoken to you and what you have learned. If you would like to take part record a few sentences about a minute or two long and send it to or WhatsApp Clement latest 14th of September 2020.
When recording using your phone please hold it in a 'landscape' position as shown in the photo above.

Pastoral Issues

If you are aware of any pastoral issues that you feel the church pastoral team should be aware of, please contact Steve or a member of the Leadership Team.
