Mission Prayer

This week we are praying for SAT7

SAT-7's vision is to see a growing Church in the Middle East and North Africa, confident in Christian faith and witness, serving the community and contributing to the good of society and culture. They provide the churches and Christians of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) an opportunity to witness to Jesus Christ through inspirational, informative, and educational television services.

Thank you to all of you who continue to send in your offerings and tithes online. If you are a regular giver or wish to make a donation you can do so online through our website. It's safe, secure and is another way of reducing the risk of spreading contamination through the use of cash or cheques. As ever, you are not obliged to give but if it is your wish to, this route is open to you.

Church Is Open

Crofton Park Baptist Church is open for worship again.
Please be assured that everything remains in place to ensure as safe an environment as possible for those who attend. At least for the time being, the same health, hygiene and social distancing measures as in November will remain in place.
While this is good news for those who feel able to come and join us, we also recognise that some of you may quite understandably not feel able to do so yet. We will therefore continue to provide a live stream of the Sunday service via the usual channels, which can also be viewed later as a recording.

Easter Activity Packs

Don't forget to spread the word to friends and neighbours to pick up an activity pack outside the church if they are passing by. It contains a candle to light and reflect on the past year as well as a chocolate treat and Easter greeting.

Gift Aid

This is to let you know that Helen Bogle will now be looking after Gift Aid for the church and is the main contact for any related matters.

NSPCC launches dedicated helpline

You may have heard about the website Everyone's Invited that has sparked a national response to rape culture in educational settings based on the thousands of testimonies posted on the site.
As part of that response the NSPCC Helpline to support potential victims of sexual harassment and abuse in education settings launched on Thursday 1st April.  The dedicated number, run by the NSPCC, will provide both children and adults who are victims of sexual abuse in schools with the appropriate support and advice. This includes how to contact the police and report crimes. The helpline will also provide support to parents and professionals too. The dedicated NSPCC helpline number is 0800 136 663.

Lil's Funeral

There will be a service for Lil at Hither Green at 3.15pm on Thursday 8th April. Attendance at this service will be invitation only.

Where You Go, I Will Go - new study on the book of Ruth

Where You Go, I Will Go is a 40-day series of Bible studies, reflections and prayers on the book of Ruth. In the Bible Ruth helps her mother-in-law, Naomi, find protection after their husbands die. Ruth is subsequently mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew.
As we've been studying the Book of Ruth over the past few weeks you might find this series of Bible studies to go through over the lent period. The book is available to order on the Baptist Union Website.
