Playwright Jonathan Rand Collaborates With GAA
Drama Department

Although Adventist schools are known for their music programs, Glendale Adventist Academy (GAA) is about to set itself apart from the rest. This May, GAA will perform an original play in the virtual landscape in collaboration with playwright Jonathan Rand.

The school has performed several plays written by Rand, such as Check Please, a trilogy about blind dates that go bad and the number one play performed in all high schools across the U.S. In 2012, Rand even visited GAA himself to watch one of the school’s performances.

Church Receives Large Face Mask Donation and Pays It Forward

What would you do if you suddenly had 60,000 face masks in your possession? For Paul Cho, pastor at Chino Valley Chinese church, the answer was simple: give them away!

Earlier this year, Cho received a call from Tarsha Cen, who, along with her family, had recently begun attending Chino Valley Chinese church, to ask if he wanted face masks.

“I just wanted to help people,” said Cen, who also shared masks with her friends and family and donated masks to Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina.

“I was so thankful when she called me; it was the right timing,” Cho shared. “When we visit church and community members to pray for them, I always bring a box of face masks. Face masks and food are the most needed.”

Volunteers Needed: God's Closet – Tujunga is looking for ministry-minded church members who would like to be part of an exciting ministry. God's Closet is a non-profit community service of the NAD and this local chapter is at the Sunland-Tujunga church. We accept donations of gently used children's clothes, baby beddings and shoes for newborn-teens. We are especially needy of teen clothes, sizes 10 to 16, boys and girls. We are also taking donations for diapers of all sizes, but especially size 6, diaper wipes, new socks, underwear and shoes for children. These items are for our quarterly free shop day event, where parents come and shop to clothe their children. If you know any vendors of new children's clothes, shoes, socks and underwear who would like to donate to this worthy cause, please feel free to call / text Lily Cirstoiu for more information at (818) 521-2483 or email at tujunga@godscloset.com.

Hospice Positions Needed in Southern CA: 
  • MEDICAL DIRECTOR(S) – Seeking a Hospice Medical Director to join a team of hospice professionals who make a difference to patients and their families who are coping with end of life illness in the Los Angeles area and Orange County.
  • Hospice RN(s) – Experienced hospice registered nurses needed for a DPCS position as well as a number of case manager positions in LA and Orange County. Must have hospice experience.  
  • Social Worker(s)/MSW(s) – needed for Los Angeles and Orange County for a fast growing new hospice. Must be experienced.
  • CHHAS-Certified Home Health Aides are needed for helping with the ADL’s for hospice patients in Los Angeles and Orange County.
  • LVNS – Full-time and Part-time as well as LVN Runners for On-call shifts are needed for LA and Orange Country.
  • Spiritual Care Chaplains – Per Diem Chaplains prefer SDA and some hospice experience but will train the right chaplains.
