Steve is sharing the message this Sunday.
His text is Ephesians 1:1-2,
and his title is:
Taking Off On Ephesians
Reconciliation Meditation
Dear Friends at Calvary,
Many churches think of the Sunday after Labor Day as the start of the church year. We should be no exception, especially this year.
This Sunday we celebrate the return of children's ministry. Those who minister to children have done outstanding and creative work for much of the covid lockdown period. Now they get to do what they do best - interact directly and personally with our kids.
A new team is in place to teach the Westminster Shorter Catechism to children in third grade and higher. This will begin next Sunday (the 19th) and be held three out of four Sundays a month.
A new website is now live - New temporary signs now direct people to our worship service and website, while showing the new church name and logo.

{Please note that the new name has yet to be finalized legally so keep writing checks to the church as payable to "Calvary Fellowship.")

And today we kick off a new sermon series on the letter to the Ephesians. Pray that God would use these sermons to bring people to faith in Christ and equip us for ministry so the body will be built up to do the work of ministry.
To help celebrate all the new year, Trudy Poirier and Emma Sadanand, both from Westminster Seminary, will lead us in music this week.
I look forward to worshipping with you all on this special Sunday!

Your servant in Christ's cause,

Steve Carter

A few weeks ago at the Q&A we introduced a vision for Swedesford Road Church. We will be rolling this out in stages each month  Here is the opening mission and vision:

Under the authority of the exalted Christ, Swedesford Road Church will make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded, both through his teaching during his earthly ministry and through the apostles who completed his teaching and wrote moved by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20).

Swedesford Road Church will thrive in its strategic location by preaching the riches of Christ, building up the body to do the work of the ministry, mentoring aspiring pastors, and planting like-minded churches.
Your servant in Christ's cause,
--Steve Carter

A move of God is the only answer for the Middle East.
So let's PRAY.

In 1997, Samuel Huntington controversially said: “Islam’s borders are bloody.” The violence convulsing Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, etc., has been in the daily news.  Why are there so many violent conflicts around the Muslim World today? Where does the violence come from?

You're Invited to join us as we explore what it means to live
with a burning passion for Christ - a heart that is on fire!

About this event:

The ultimate purpose of this retreat is for men to leave this weekend with a renewed passion for Christ and hearts burning for Him, then knowing how to consistently live with a growing passion for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Few men have lived with a passion for Christ more than the apostle Paul. Throughout this retreat, we will explore 10 Christ-centered factors that fueled Paul’s passion for Christ throughout his epistles.

Those who attend this retreat can expect to leave with a renewed passion for Christ and a Christ-centered blueprint that is designed to fuel their passion for Christ for the rest of their lives.
