Dear friend of Platte County!

The official swearing-in of Platte County officeholders will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 11 AM in the Platte County Administrative Building (415 Third Street, Platte City, MO  64079, second floor). Officeholders joining me in being sworn-in will be:

  • John Elliott, commissioner-elect of district 2,
  • David Cox, assessor,
  • Mark Owen, sheriff,
  • Jera Pruitt, public administrator-elect, and
  • Rob Willard, treasurer.
If you can make it, we would be honored to have you join our family for this short ceremony.

County Business Update:
Your future commission has been in budget meetings with officeholders and department heads for the past few weeks.  With the 2016 revenue for the County's 1/2 cent sales and use taxes ending at 2.02% less than what was collected in 2015, along with increased insurance costs, a fiscally responsible approach will be needed to guide the county's budget for 2017.  We'll keep you posted, if you'd like.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a healthy 2017!

Dagmar Wood
Platte County, Missouri
Commissioner-elect, 1st District
Did you know....
that Platte County has a population of over 93,000, and over 63,000 of those are registered to vote?  With 78.6% of the registered voters weighing-in for the November 8, 2016 general election, we hit the highest voter turnout in recent history.  Bravo, Platte County!
