Our Gift to the Community
|
|
On behalf of the GreenTree residents and community, a donation was made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Bay Area. Having a comfortable, secure, and convenient place to call home is at the essence of Ronald McDonald House Charities. This national non-profit organization offers temporary housing for families whose children are receiving lifesaving medical care.
Since 2020, Veritas has donated more than 1,500 nights of housing to Ronald McDonald House Charities families at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
RMHC recently purchased a partially renovated home directly across the street from the Oakland Children’s Hospital. Our donation to RMHC will help fund renovations to make this new home wheelchair accessible. Our teams got a behind-the-scenes tour of the planned upgrades. We want your special days to be merry & bright – but we also want to you to be safe. Check out these tips:
- Opt for flameless candles vs. flame-lit. If you must use flamed candles, keep them away from walls and anything that may catch fire.
- Don't leave space heaters on unattended and turn them off before bed.
- Only allow people you recognize into the building. Do not let anyone follow you into the building that is not your guest.
- Do not provide access to anyone you are not expecting.
- Request that couriers deliver packages directly to your door and out of sight from passersby.
- If you know you will not be available, have your packages delivered to your office or a friend’s place with someone who will be home to accept the delivery.
- Please report any suspicious activity and theft to SFPD and your Resident Manager, as well as the package courier.

How to Handle Your Holiday Leftovers: Compost & Recycling Tips
|
|
We want to remind you of some super-easy and environmentally sound steps that you can take to reduce waste after your celebrations this year:
- Freeze your leftovers to extend their shelf life, rather than just ditching them after a few days.
- Use your compost bin for all organic material. This includes coffee grounds and filters, paper napkins, paper plates, and more. CA State Law SB1383 requires residents to participate in these programs, so let’s do our part! Doing this will also prevent overflow in your trash/recycling area.
- Break down your boxes completely. There are inevitably more packages coming in this season, making it important for everyone to do their part in preventing unnecessary issues in the recycling bins.
- Make sure your waste is properly sorted. Unsure of the guidelines? Head to Recology’s site to learn the proper way to discard your items.
