Conservation Tips for Summer, Supporting Ukraine, A Restaurant Spotlight & Community Events

August marks the beginning of the San Francisco summer weather, so we want to share a few tips to help keep your utility bills in check and water consumption in conservation-mode. Plus, learn about our recent partnership with Nova Ukraine and enjoy a highlight of a favorite local eatery.

Tips to Reduce Energy Costs &
 Help Conserve Water

It’s not easy being green, but every small action adds up to make a positive impact on our environment. Here are some simple things you can do to make a difference:
  • Keep your shower time to 5 minutes or less to reduce water-heating costs and overall water usage.
  • Turn off or unplug appliances when they are not in use, such as coffee makers and toasters.
  • Wash full loads of laundry using cold water.
  • Clean your dryer’s lint trap to reduce drying time.
  • Use the dishwasher instead of washing dishes by hand.
  • Operate your dishwasher only when it is completely full.

In the Community: Supporting Ukraine

An apartment is more than a roof over your head, it’s a place to call home. Last month, in partnership with Nova Ukraine, we welcomed five Ukrainian refugee families into our San Francisco buildings for a temporary home. Watch this ABC7 news story to see how one family is settling into their new home in the US.

Local Restaurant Highlight:
Woodhouse Fish Co.

Summertime is perfect for enjoying some fantastic seafood, and Woodhouse Fish Co. is the ideal spot! Known for their oysters, cioppino, and fish and chips, this place is a seafood lover's paradise. You can dine in or order your food to go; know that they only accept walk-ins, so on weekends, anticipate a short wait.
Highly Recommended: The seafood-stuffed artichoke.

Two locations: 2073 Market Street and 1914 Fillmore Street, San Francisco
Hours: 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM Daily
