| ILDS World Skin Summit

The 2nd ILDS World Skin Summit is almost upon us and we look forward to welcoming you to Ho Chi Minh City. The Summit is an important opportunity for the leaders of ILDS Member Societies to work together towards a vision of attaining the best possible skin health for all people around the world.

The Summit provides a forum for sharing and discussion around strategies to improve skin health at local, national, regional and global levels.

| New ILDS Website

We are excited to share with you the launch of the new ILDS website. A website is often the first place people go to look for information and our new website is an excellent window display for all the activities that the ILDS undertakes. 

Our branding update continues on from the ILDS Strategic Plan providing a clear sense of identity for the ILDS as we work towards attaining the best possible skin health for all people around the world.

The new website provides us with more ways to share what the ILDS is doing, as well as how Members can be involved. You can now easily find the Membership Directory, details about the World Congress of Dermatology, ILDS Awards, the International Foundation for Dermatology (IFD), as well as News and Events

| Community Dermatology Journal

The latest issue of the Community Dermatology Journal (CDJ) is available to download now. Highlights include articles on migrant health; treating skin conditions in conflict zones; and community dermatology in Latin America.

The CDJ is a dermatology resource for healthcare workers in under-served areas. It provides up to date, relevant information on the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease. It is a useful resource for educating health workers and the populations they serve and for keeping in touch with dermatology services in resource-poor areas.

The Journal is published twice a year with over 7,000 copies sent to nearly 200 countries free of charge. Please contact us to join the hard-copy mailing list.

All issues are available online. You can also join the CDJ digital mailing list and receive the digital issue as soon as it’s published.

| Regional Dermatology Training Centre

Meet a graduate from the Regional Dermatology Training Centre (RDTC) in Moshi, Tanzania. The RDTC is a supra-regional training, research and clinical centre. It provides care to dermatological patients and training to medical Assistants and Clinical Officers. Since it was founded the IFD has supported the training of 29 Consultants from 7 countries and 273 dermatology officers from 16 African countries.

| World Skin Health Day 2018

On 6 April 2018, as part of World Skin Health Day, the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) undertook a wide variety of activities to promote skin health.

From press conferences to health education programmes, including giving talks on radio and TV. They also held rallies and ran clinics to provide treatment, with over 200 activities taking place across India treating 25,000 patients.

| WCD Milan 2019

Thank you to everyone that joined us at the WCD 2019 reception at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in San Diego.

It is just over a year until the World Congress and Profs Pellacani and Peris are hard at work getting everything ready for a new era of global dermatology in Milan. We look forward to seeing you there.

  • 10 December 2018 - Deadline to submit letter of intent to bid for the 25th WCD in 2023. This must be submitted at least six months before WCD 2019.
