Words from Our Teachers

Dear Parents,

March was a month full of learning and excitement! The children enjoyed a special field trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo and were ecstatic to see the animals they learned about in the classroom. When asked which animals they loved seeing the most, most said "lion" or "tiger" and I am so proud of them for pushing through the end to make it possible to see the Great Cats exhibit! We also couldn't have done this without our wonderful parent chaperones! :)

Another highlight in March was having a surprise visit from a naughty leprechaun who turned our classroom inside out for St. Patrick's Day! To my surprise, after a lot of "Uh-ohs!" and "Oh nos!," the children immediately began picking things up and cleaning up their classroom without being asked to. What a wonderful bunch of rockstars!

In March, we also learned about all things spring related, including: seeds, plants, flowers, bugs, insects, etc. We learned that even though seeds don't have legs, wings or fins, they can move around to different places in a variety of different ways. We learned about how plants and flowers have different parts just like our human bodies and what they need to grow. "The Tiny Seed" by Eric Carle was a very big hit with the children!

In April, our focus will be on birds and oceans.

I'd also like to extend a warm welcome to Alice, James and Jeremy who joined our Adventure classroom in March. Here's to their new beginnings!

Best,

Ms. Kriti

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her family (especially her niece).

Dear Parents,

After learning about zoo animals in the class, the children in the Adventure Class saw real animals during the field trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo, which definitely consolidated the knowledge they learned. The children also learned how to plant and nurture plants, and gained knowledge through planting by themselves at our school. Keep up the good work, Adventure Class!

Best,

Ms. Winny
