April has been an exciting month. We learned so many things about the birds and oceans. We learned that birds are different by color, size and where they live. The children also enjoyed learning about different sea animals.
Furthermore our Easter celebration was a blast. We played lots of game and enjoyed our Easter egg hung outside.
Lastly, for the remainder of the year we will review addition, subtraction, blending sounds together and continue our reading groups.
I will miss my students so much when they transition to Kindergarten.
April went by fast. During the month, we learned about various types of birds. In our Ocean theme, we learned about the geography of the sea and the physiology of the animals in it as well as their way of life. We strengthened our vocabulary in both English and Chinese by using teaching aids, manipulatives, pictures, and so on, based on the theme of study. In addition, the students used various Chinese character cards prepared by the teacher to help recognize, describe and enhance their writing skills.
April 22 is Earth Day. We learned and discussed the importance of protecting the earth, as well as specific measures for protection, for example, saving energy, not wasting paper, water, electricity, or food, and so on; garbage sorting and recycling; and caring for plants, etc. Through a lot of practice, the children have been deeply impressed by this. Everyone said, "The protection of the earth must start with me, starting from the little things I do every day."
We also celebrated the Easter. The children happily participated in the Easter egg hunt and craft activities.
All the above learning content was taught in English and Chinese languages.
