The first activity of the new student organisation Cultural Historians Utrecht’ (CHU) is coming up! We will be organizing activities throughout the year for the MA-students of Cultural History. On Thursday 13 October Jaap Verheul and Marijke Huisman will take us on a tour through the city centre of Utrecht. Jaap will tell us all about Utrecht in the 19th century and Marijke will focus on the history of subaltern groups such as slaves and feminists. We will meet at 17.00 in front of Janskerkhof 15. Afterwards beers (and cokes) are waiting for us at the Kromme Nieuwegracht 20 at 19.00. Pizza is already ordered and you can just sit back and discuss the interesting tours! The pizzas will be at your own expense, but the beers are on us. You can also bring your own food and drinks of course! For more information you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our Facebook page ‘Cultural Historians Utrecht’ (https://www.facebook.com/culturalhistoriansutrecht/). See you next Thursday!

The site is connected to our Twitter account, which has the handle @CulturalHistUU, and to the student's Facebook and LinedIn pages. Follow us, retweet us and do send us copy for the upcoming newsletters!
