HUAA NEWS UPDATE
GET INFORMED. GET INVOLVED

AN INAUGURATION CELEBRATION TO REMEMBER
Once again Howard University has produced another notable Alumni, Madame Vice President Kamala Harris.  HUAA was right on hand to celebrate her achievement with a BET sponsored virtual event attended by over 600 alumni  featuring a special performance by Eric Roberson ( B. A. '97).

HUAA PARTNERS WITH GOALSETTER

HUAA is excited to partner with Goalsetter a black-owned, woman-owned app that puts our kids on the path to financial freedom.

Goalsetter is the only account that comes with financial literacy for our kids - delivered through the pop-culture and memes that they already love. Let's get every kid and teen in our country signed up to become savers and investors, and not just consumers.

We are encouraging every Howard Alumni to sign up your own kid or teen, niece or nephew, or grandkid @goalsetterco.

NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH

Fellow Bison,

March is National Nutrition Month, so there’s no better time to emphasize healthy eating habits than now.  The past year of pandemic disruption has affected us all, so it’s time for a fresh start. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics provides the following tips and recommendations to ‘plan your plate’ in 2021.

  1. Eat a healthy breakfast
  2. Fruits and veggies
  3. Reading the nutrition facts
  4. Drink water
  5. Get cooking at home;
  6. Plan meal time.
  7. Experiment with plant-based meals.
  8. Make an effort to reduce food waste by planning your meals.
  9. Be active.
  10. Follow food safety guidelines.   Learn more about home food safety at www.homefoodsafety.org.
  11. Consult a registered dietary nutritionist.

Make 2021 your Bison best by getting more nutrition savvy and fit!
