Goth Tiki 2019
Saturday June 8th is the return of our annual Goth Tiki night hosted by the luminaries at the Fremont Masonry. The Masonry will open at 12pm and the event will run all day. 730 N 34th St, Seattle.
We will have kegs of cellared beers released last year, a bunch of recently released beers including 2018 harvest beers such as Protection Spells, Firmament and Light, Cherry Field Blend, and Voice-Hearers, as well as some as-of-yet unreleased beers.
In total we're hoping to be pouring about 10 beers on draught and doing bottle pours of an additional 3-4 throughout the day, so don't feel like if you don't show up at open that you'll miss out on beer.
Our good friend Derek Bracho will be back with tiki cocktails. Since we're stepping everything up this year Matt from The Masonry has also lined up a crew of all star guest bartenders. The tiki part of Goth Tiki is going to be serious.
The Masonry will also have a new Floodland x Machine House collaboration on the beer engine. This open fermented and cask conditioned 4-grain pale is a preliminary batch of a beer we are going to brew at Machine House and ferment at Floodland which will come out at some point in the distant future. This collaboration was made with a very Floodland style grist and hopping of Thomas Fawcett Golden Promise barley, raw spelt, oats, and wheat, and hopped with a blend of English and New Zealand varietals. This is essentially a beer brewed with a malt and hop bill that is what I would use to make a saison, but fermented with an ale strain and cask conditioned and served young and hoppy like Machine House would do. Our beers and processes are so similar in so many ways that it was really fun to make this.
Props to Andy Savoie for the killer poster design. See you guys Saturday.
