We want to announce Jen Scott will be moving on to other projects, and no working with the Consortium for Implementation Science. We thank her for her enthusiasm and hard work over the last year. We wish her the best!

Resource of the Month
A guide to using the Theoretical Domains Framework of behavior change to investigate implementation problems

Researchers from Canada, the UK and Australia have developed guidance for using the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) of behavior change to achieve implementation objectives. The guide, published this month in Implementation Science, contains step-by-step instructions for using the TDF to assess implementation problems and support intervention design.

Youth evidence-based practice implementation articles wanted

A team is currently conducting a systematic review of evidence-based practice implementation efforts within youth public-sector mental health systems. They are asking for any published or unpublished papers that describe state-, county-, and/or city-level EBP implementation.

2017 PCORI Annual Meeting 

October 31-November 2, 2017 | Arlington, VA

This year’s PCORI Annual meeting theme is: “Delivering Results, Informing Choices”, and will focus on the emerging results of PCORI’s funded studies and efforts to provide that information to those who can use it to make better-informed healthcare decisions.

Scholarships are available for patients/caregivers and representatives of patient advocacy organizations, and for trainees enrolled in health research programs.

Deadlines to apply are July 14 (patients/caregivers) and July 21 (trainees).

Fellowships
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Interventions Targeting Physical Activity and Sedentary Behavior 

The Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre is now accepting applications for a two-year, full-time postdoctoral fellowship. The fellow will assist on an international project looking to develop targets for increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary behaviour in elderly populations (i.e., aged 65+); and a national guideline development and implementation project around cardiac rehabilitation, with the opportunity to work on other pertinent projects.

UCSF’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is now accepting applications for its online certificate program in implementation science.  The program is a one-year, part-time program consisting of a series of six online courses.
 
The Online Certificate Program is ideal for scholars who are actively involved in implementing a health intervention or quality improvement program.

Using the Organization Readiness for Change Assessment (ORCA) in Planning for Implementation:  A Worked Example

As part of the QUERI Implementation Network webinar series, Anne Sales presented data from facilities adopting the Life Sustaining Treatment Decision Initiative from the National Center for Ethics in Health Care regarding organizational readiness to change and discuss ways to use the data to support implementation planning.
