We are super excited to bring more partner organizations to you! This month, we have special guests from Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies and Code for BTV visiting with members of The Space On Main. We also have two more kickass FREE business workshops made possible by the Center for Women & Enterprise and Think Vermont, with Cohase Chamber of Commerce, Bradford Business Association, and VtSBDC. We have highlighted a few events below. Meet Our Rock Star Board of Directors Members! 

Hailing from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Washington, meet The Space’s Board of Directors. The board, as well as area advisors, provide the necessary framework, expertise, support, and guidance for The Space On Main, Inc. to be successful. VCET Team to Visit with Members of The Space! 

Monday, Jul 29th 9:00–10:30am The team from VCET that extended its #ScaleHere mentoring and discount resources is coming to The Space. We'll start with a group breakfast introduction of what resources members here can take advantage of. After introductions, David and Sam have offered one-on-one consultations to anyone who wants to talk through their businesses. This could be from idea stage not knowing where to go next, to practicing a pitch, to needing a new direction, etc. After that they’re going to record an episode of their Start Here podcast on-site.

Movement & Mandala Art with Jill Cray

Wednesday, July 31st 5:30pm Join in for an evening of fun, creative flow and mandala design workshop! Everyone is encouraged to join in! You can expect to laugh, meet new friend in the community and get creative (with professional instruction by Amy Fortier). Wear clothes you can move in. Bring a friend or family member! Let’s move and create together! Cost $35 per person or $30 for members of The Space (including Sustaining Spark).

FREE CWE Business & Entrepreneur Workshops

Thursday, August 1st, 9:30am–12:00pm Steps to Grow Your Business
In this session, learn analysis methods to examine current and future opportunities for your business. Must register to attend. Pizza and snacks provided. Offered through a partnership with CWE VT & Think Vermont.

Thursday, August 1st, 5:30–8:00pm Succeeding in Your Side Hustle
Do you have freelance work, gigs, or a “side hustle”? This workshop will provide tools and templates to feel confident and enthusiastic about a multiple-income stream lifestyle. We’ll cover topics like how to build the network you need, securing and managing clients, legal considerations and management tools. Free. Must register to attend. Pizza provided. Offered through a partnership with CWE VT & Think Vermont.

Five Dollar First Friday Coworking

Friday, August 2nd 10:00am–5:00pm Come cowork for $5 at The Space On Main during August First Friday 10am-5pm. Join us at the end of the day for our First Friday gallery opening with photographer, Julie Fortunati. Hop down the street for discounts on local food, live music, and fight night at Blue Wave. Start off here to let us know you're coming and so we can get on to the wifi network as quickly as possible.

August First Friday Opening: Architectural Spin-Off

Friday, August 2nd 5:00–7:00pm Julie Fortunati's show, Architectural Spin-Off, will be featured in the Gallery at The Space On Main for the month of August. Opening reception on August 2nd (First Friday) 5:00–7:00pm and for public viewing hours 3:00–5:00pm on subsequent Fridays throughout the month. Visit for more information. The Growing Peace Project's Unity Potluck Lunch

Saturday, August 3rd 12:00–2:30pm Youth activists participating in The Growing Peace Project's annual leadership retreat are hosting a community potluck lunch! Family-friendly program begins at noon, followed by a shared meal and art project. Reservations are not necessary.

Friday, August 9th 10:00am–5:00pm Come cowork for FREE at The Space On Main on August 9th 10am-5pm to celebrate International Coworking Day! Start off here to let us know you're coming and so we can get on to the wifi network as quickly as possible.

Tech Thursday Meetup w/ Code for BTV Guests!

Thursday, Aug 29th 5:30–7:00pm A low-key, monthly tech event for the Cohase Region, we invite all who are interested to join us – engineers, developers, technologists, architects, designers, etc. What are you working on? What are you struggling with? What do you need help with – or skills are you looking to partner with? What project are you picking back up or dreaming of starting? Pizza provided. The group expressed an interest in learning more about Code for America and Code for BTV. We will be joined by members of the Code for BTV team to share what they have going on! You can think of Code for BTV as a pro-bono digital agency working for the public good. They pick meaningful projects and do the research, design, architecture, coding, launch, and communications work to help important organizations work more effectively. 

Weekly Yoga Events with Bessie

Thursdays, 12:00–1:00pm Join us for a feel good, mid day move session to stretch, strengthen and destress! $12 Drop-ins or $10 for members of The Space (yes, including Sustaining Spark members)!

Mondays, 3:45pm (ages 5-8) & 5:15pm (ages 9-12) By popular demand, Bessie Sandberg and Emilie Perry will be teaching Kid Yoga at The Space On Main every Monday starting July 15th. Kids ages 5-8: 3:45pm-5:00pm. Kids ages 9-12: 5:15pm-6:45pm. Children will learn basic and advanced yoga poses and gain knowledge in the art of breath control. We’ll also throw in some fun games for learning and developing fine motor skills. Drop in for $10 or pay ahead for 6 classes ($50). More information:
