Open Class Celebration: Faculty Visiting Faculty (OCC) provides faculty members with opportunities to open their classes and to visit these classes and see colleagues in action during February 7-9 and 14-18.

Here is the preliminary schedule for next week. Sign up at least 3 days in advance - space is limited:

  • Monday, February 7, 12:00-12:50 pm: Kent Scheller, PHYS 101 Conceptual Physics. Notes: Large lecture, incorporation of demos.
  • Tuesday, February 8, 10:30-11:45 am: Nicolas Jankuhn, MKTG 332 Consumer Behavior. Topic: The American Society: Families and Households
  • Tuesday, February 8, 12:00-1:15 pm: Trent Engbers, POLS 332 Statistics and Data Analysis. Note: Flipped class.
  • Wednesday, February 9, 10:00-10:50 am: Rob Carroll, EDUC 221 Diversity and Equity-Education 

Learn how OCC works and how to participate. The purpose is to promote collaboration, learn from each other, share effective ways of teaching and engaging students, discuss challenges, and share experiences. The program is part of CETL’s focus on “Making Teaching & Learning Visible."

Mid-semester Feedback: FACT Program

Are you interested in gathering student mid-semester feedback to improve your course this semester, rather than waiting for course evaluations at the end of the semester? Would you like to foster rapport with your students?

Through the Formative Assessment of Classroom Teaching (FACT) program, trained Consultants facilitate guided discussions with your students and then share their anonymous feedback with you. This is available for both face-to-face and online classes (via Zoom or asynchronous).

Learn more about the FACT program and request a FACT by February 21.
