Greetings!  It sure has been a wild winter. The warm spell in February made it challenging to capture snowy fields, frozen falls, and the outdoor beauty of winter. With spring at the doorstep, we're looking forward to flowers and returning birds.

We rang in the new year in Florida. The image on the right, "On a Mission (Osprey)" was taken by Adrienne at the Everglades National Park.  We observed the male Osprey returning to the nest and giving a half-eaten fish to the female.  Relieved of her nesting duties, she took off with the fish in this photo.  When the dense morning fog scuttled our birding plan, Jonathan took the picture above, "Everglades at Dawn".
Adrienne participates year-round at Uptown Gallery (The Shops, Waterloo Town Square, 75 King Street South, Waterloo) which runs six shows a year.  You are invited to these current and upcoming Uptown Gallery shows:
  • “ReArt” runs from Tuesday March 21st to Sunday May 14th, and the opening reception is on Sunday March 26th, from 2-4pm.
  • “Natural Beauty” runs from Tuesday May 16th to Sunday July 9th
Adrienne will be exhibiting the following creative images at Uptown Gallery's "ReArt" show:
The figure skaters above were shot through rink-side netting.  Edited to remove distracting elements, these images, "The Figure Skater" and "Star On Ice", evolved into painterly impressionistic works.
By careful selection and removal of certain colours, Adrienne has achieved a surreal image of gazanias in “Sunshine Lovers.”  Like dandelions, these flowers only fully open under bright sun, and Adrienne conveys how stunning they are when they do open.
Adrienne's “Killbear Night Sky”, shown above, is one of 40 images accepted into the Kitchener Waterloo Society of Artists juried member show held at Homer Watson House and Gallery. Show runs from March 19 to April 27.
Here’s why Adrienne can’t wait to ride the bus in May - “Autumn’s Palette” will be on display on Grand River Transit buses, having been selected for "Art that Moves You", a project to bring visual and literary art to the public through displays on public transit.
Besides Adrienne’s ongoing participating at Uptown Gallery we are planning to participate in several other art events in the Kitchener Waterloo area and beyond.  Stay tuned for our invitations.  You may also follow Adrienne on Facebook.

Photography keeps us seeing wonderful things, and hope it does for you too.
