We survived a busy autumn with three weekend art shows, plus Adrienne's ongoing displays at Uptown Gallery. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities to meet art lovers at the shows and discuss the making of our photographs.
We hit the roads again after the Christmas break. New year was spent visiting New York City, one of the favourite locations for our whole family. Jonathan captured the banner image, a 5-frame panoramic stitch, on New Year day when the rising supermoon just starting to peek through in-between buildings in Lower Manhattan
Credit for "The Mahhattan Bridge" goes to our son, who took the photos and performed the HDR post-processing under the tutelage of Jonathan.
Back in Ontario, Adrienne spends her time pursuing winter bird photography and exploring post-processing techniques. With the unusually long cold spell in early January, we also visited Niagara Falls to take in the magical beauty of the Falls with ice-crusted cliffs. "Winter Dawn at Niagara".
Adrienne is currently showing at the "New Life" show at Uptown Gallery (The Shops, Waterloo Town Square, 75 King Street South, Waterloo), on until March 15. Look out for her mini-framed cardinal pair, perfect for Valentine's Day or that special couple. Also showing is "Snowy Flight" with painterly effect achieved through digital filtering, "Gazania Beauty #2" which was created using Adrienne's own filters, and "Hepatica" which are some of the prettiest early wildflowers in spring and grow only inches off the ground.
Also mark your calendar for these upcoming Uptown Gallery shows: "Chain Reaction" from March 16 to May 15, and "Spring's Awakening" from May 15 to July 8.
