Smithsonian Learning Lab Bright Ideas Newsletter

Dear Learning Lab Registered User,

If you teach a foreign language or are just internationally minded, this issue is for you. The featured collections have been created in Learning Lab by classroom teachers—and they are spectacular!

The Spanish language lessons (with teachers’ guides in English) include suggested authentic resources both in Spanish and English that can be adapted by teachers of different disciplines. The Chinese language lesson features artworks with key information, ideas for class discussion, and class activities.

Don’t miss your chance to interact with some of the authors of these collections. Meet Vicky Masson of Christ Episcopal School (MD) and Marcela Velikovsky of the Bullis School (MD), Wednesday, May 8, 6 PM Eastern. They will explain their instructional materials and how to use them with students. A Smithsonian staff member will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Learning Lab and other heritage and language resources.

Finally, we’re proud to announce that Smithsonian Learning Lab has won “ Best Education Website” in the 2019 Webby Awards. Thank you for being part of our success!

Sincerely,

Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access
