Playing Hide and Seek
Hey readers,

In last week’s issue of the newsletter, I was advising you (and mostly myself) to just slow down, find the time to rest and breathe, despite life and society’s craziness. So funnily enough, this week I tried to apply what I preach 🤷🏾‍♂️ and I made an interesting discovery.

Time actually extends when you stop looking for it
Crazy right? I mean I would have thought that doing everything faster, trying to optimize my time would leave me happier. Yet in the end it’s always the same thing that I was doing: looking for time, never actually allowing myself to appreciate it.

It’s like playing hide and seek or something like laser game as a kid, the more you run into the house, the less chances you have of finding what you look for. The best method is to be smart, find the best point of view and and just wait for the right time.

As I found out this week, time actually extends when you stop looking for it. And no I haven’t lived more than 24h in a day, nor have I developed super powers (I wish)... I just started to enjoy life for what it is, not what it should be. Despite the fact that my exams just started, I don’t feel stressed. I’m not late for anything, I’m just where I should be in the time given, and you’re too.
— What I learned this week
🎥  What I'm watching: "This productivity system will save your life" • I've been really inspired by Matt D'Avella's latest video, especially to start reading The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande and I'm really loving it so far.
📱  One App I'm loving: Fantastical • Sadly I think it's only available on Apple devices and it comes with a subscription, but I've really been loving the new version of Fantastical lately. An amazing calendar app, that does much more than just that.
— What I created for you this week
Only one new post this week, the second one will come later next week.
Life is a journey, not a race
We run, we run, but where to? Life is a journey and we all are on our own path.
How I'll reach my goals in 2020
The systems and habits I built to reach my goals this year.

Alright, that's all for me this week! Thank you once more for reading. If you find some value in this issue, don't hesitate to recommend it to your friends! They can subscribe here.
See you next week,
Mathieu Céraline.
