The charitable donation deadline is just days away!
Thank you and happy holidays from SCARS! We hope the festive season is bringing you much joy. Thank you for your amazing support of SCARS this past year. Despite a slower than usual year for adoptions, we have helped more than 1,850 dogs and cats. Many of them came to us starving, injured, sick, expecting young or with young in tow. We also expanded our operations with the new Morinville Rescue Centre.
Because of you, SCARS helped pets like Archie (see his story below) and so many more. You can read more rescue stories on our website and learn more about our past year in the video below.
If you can find it in your heart to help more this year, please don't miss out on tax savings. There are only a few days left to donate for a 2022 tax receipt. Did you know your tax credits could add up to as much as 49% of your donation back at tax time? Doing good and reducing what you owe at tax time is a win/win. Learn how you could save more with this Charitable Tax Credit Calculator.

Thank you for helping pets like Archie!
Emergency care! When Archie came into care on October 14, he was skin and bones and not eating. Beyond the obvious suffering from quills, he had a bullet wound that caused his lung to collapse.
Recovery! After a week of veterinary care, he was released to our new Morinville Rescue Centre where he was able to rest and recover.
Adoption! On November 23, Archie was ready to be adopted, and it didn't take long until he found the perfect family. See their recent update below.
Look at Me Now! "Thank you so much to anyone who helped Archie along the way. He just had his first Christmas at home and it was so very merry! He loved the kids and they loved him. When they left, he stood at his window by the door and cried. Poor guy, but they’ll be back. He was very good while we ate, just laid on the floor and slept. He tried to keep some keepsakes from the kids which made us laugh, socks and stuffies carefully placed with his bones and toys."
