Message from a Foster Home "We Need You"!

"Nothing is impossible. The word itself says: 'I'm possible!'" —Audrey Hepburn

Together we make the impossible possible for homeless pets. We currently have 338 animals in care that, without SCARS, would very likely not be alive right now. Do you wish you could do more? Perhaps you have considered fostering but felt unsure. We have a message to share from Patti, one of our foster home volunteers. We are so grateful for volunteers like her who make a difference every day. She is currently caring for the family shown above that includes 11 puppies (Copper, Zinc, Tin, Titanium, Silver, Cobalt, Nickel, Lead, Platinum, Gold and Iron). This is her message...
I am writing this because I have heard so many people say if they could… they would foster puppies, then list a ton of reasons why they can’t.

❓People always ask me how I manage to foster puppies and not keep them all? Well it’s simple really, I already have 3 large dogs that I love!

❓So why/how do I keep taking litter after litter?

❤️ Who can say no to these faces? I might also add that I also work full time! And… no it’s not from home! And it’s just me.Do they miss me while I am gone, sure (at least I like to think so!)

❓But guess what??

❓Would you rather be in a room with the rest of your littermates fed and warm? Or under a car or deck freezing fighting for our lives??? I think that’s an easy choice.

❤️ Fairly sure the 300 or so puppies that have come thru my care will vote for warmth!

🥶 Winter is here, puppies (kittens) are suffering as you read this.

❓ Why not try?

❓ What is the worst can happen?”

The requests are piling up. Every day we get up up to 30 or more requests to help animals. If you can foster, we NEED you. Click here to learn more.
May we all live today the way you want to be remembered tomorrow!
Each of us can make a difference.

Look at Me Now Story

Hello SCARS! Here’s an update on Cleo (formerly named Anna). It is Cleo’s one-year adoption anniversary, and it has been the best year spent with her!  The personality that she has developed has made raising her such a joy. She loves throwing around her toys, playing keep away, and snuggling with both mom and dad while she snores herself to sleep. Cleo is always wanting to make new friends whether they’re human or other dogs. She is so full of love and has so much to give. One year ago, we found the perfect fit to our family, and she changed our lives forever. We can’t wait to see what these next years have in store for our sweet, playful baby!
