The images below are from a rural intake facility SCARS regularly visits. The future of dogs like these is uncertain. A perfect storm is brewing this spring. Requests to help dogs and cats are increasing, but adoptions and donations have slowed, and fewer families are fostering. But hope is never lost. Our ask is that you don’t forget these sad eyes and scared faces. Their tomorrow depends on what we do today.
Here are some actions that will help animals!
Can you adopt? Adoption saves live and will change your life in the best ways possible. Not convinced? Check out our look at me now stories. Not ready to adopt? As of April 28, we had only adopted 70 animals (35 cats and 45 dogs) and brought 99 into care (75 cats and 24 dogs). As our capacity stretches thin, the communities we serve are left with tough decisions. We hesitate to say what might happen if adoptions don't start to increase. Please help!
Did you know? Our adoption fee includes a veterinary health check, spay or neuter, first vaccinations, and a micro chip.
