Wow what a cold snow storm that blew in this week. I hope you all stayed warm and safe. Now we will have some warm weather to look forward to and still enjoy the color changes.
Saturday October 5, 2019 Mary Steingesser taught a Jingle My Kringle Santa Ornament. We all had a great time and a wonderful piece to take home. Thank you Mary, Melinda and Catherine for organizing the fun Workshop for our Members and Guests.
Monday October 7, 2019 SDP organized our 1st Paint In. The pattern was a fall piece, Pumpkin Paint In. Thank you Ginny for teaching this class locally. Thank you Mary for organizing and coordinating the Paint In for our group, with SDP. I'm excited to see the piece SDP will offer in the next Paint In. This is a great way to socialize with other members and guests, while painting a great project.

On Monday, Oct. 21, Andrene Schmelzer will be leading us through the creation of an adorable snowman spoon. The cost is $5.00 and includes the spoon (already prepped), wire, beads and paint. Please bring smaller flat and angle brushes for acrylics, a pencil, and water containers.
Our November 18th meeting will be our Holiday event and the last monthly meeting for 2019. Please watch for details.
That’s it from me!
Message from this Month's Teacher- Andrene Schmelzer
I have been prepping teaspoons and tablespoons for the spoon snowman class at this months meeting. I am using DecoArt Americana multi purpose satin acrylics. It takes about 5 coats of white (cotton ball) is the multi purpose color.
For a $5.00 fee I will do the prep, supply the paint, the wire and beads for wrapping. If you prefer to do your own base coating and supply your own paints, wire and beads that is also ok.
The colors we will be using are white for the base coat. His hat can be any blue you choose, or red or green. Orange for the nose. Burnt sienna for the nose. Cheeks are red plus a little white. Black for the coal eyes and mouth.
Catherine has offered to help with the wire wrapping for anyone that hasn't done it before. If you have your own tools please bring. But, she will bring extra and so will I.
Any questions call or text me at 720-840-1255.

Jane Jones: You must visit Jane's website again and see her wonderful paintings... they are amazing! https://www.janejonesartist.com/
I saved the best for last. Many short how-to videos. Some of you may recognize Kathi Hanson since she worked for them for several years. Kathi teaches classes and works in the General Pencil Company booth at conventions. https://www.generalpencil.com/videos.html
Cupboard Distributing Stencils - I think I mentioned before that Chris Houghey and her husband purchased a company that makes stencils. They have their website up now with tons of stencils. Also you will find patterns, books, wood, brushes and accessories. https://cdstencils.com/
Pixelated Palette Magazine - If you haven't visited the E-Zine magazine in awhile you might want to check it out. You can subscribe yearly or purchase one issue. https://thepixelatedpalette.com/
Tip: Winsor Newton Brush Cleaner and Restore
Here is a great tip from Patty Rawlinson for completely cleaning dried acrylics, oils, and alkyds out of your brushes with no damage to the bristles. The cleaner is available at Guirys, Hobby Lobby and Michaels. You can also order it from Dick Blick or Amazon.
Be sure and view the photos on our website taken in Steamboat Springs of our member Eve Bevill's home. Eve's painting is amazing.
I will miss you at the next meeting, but will have news from the OKC convention in the next newsletter.
