Fall back to the (Art) Center!

Hello again friends, Annie Henninger here. I’ve been thinking about the word "center" lately, and about the action of centering clay on a pottery wheel. One definition of "center" that I particularly like is taken from Merriam Webster: a source from which something originates. I love the idea of manifesting something where it didn’t exist before.

Have you ever tried to center a lump of clay on the pottery wheel? The experience can be magical, mesmerizing, empowering, messy, challenging, and of course – centering!

This fall, Natalie Squillante, of Slope Side Ceramics, is offering a variety of Beginner and Intermediate clay classes and workshops for children and adults. Register for art studio classes here.

Truly, the act of creating can serve to center us, no matter where we are, but we are so fortunate to have a Community Art Center right in the heart of Glenwood Springs. Please join us in making this place a vibrant source from which new ideas and creativity flow.
