Hello,

How have you been doing since the last update? We hope you've been well and managed to get out amongst the autumn leaves before winter truly sets in! Today, we're mainly focusing on a roundup of recently shared information - because we know there's been quite a lot! But first a couple of updates about membership:

Membership recruitment | Update: After a dip in number during the various lockdowns, membership has bounced back strongly and we are pleased to say there are now over 101,000 Ramblers members. If you're interested, you can find out about some of the membership work being done nationally on Assemble, including the locations of Ramblers stands at country fairs, markets, festivals and outdoors stores.

Membership Dashboard | Updates: If you're a membership secretary or a volunteer who uses the membership secretaries dashboard,
you'll have received an email earlier this week letting you know the dashboard will not be updated from 26-30 November. The update is also available on Assemble for volunteers in these roles.

Brand, Website, Walks Manager | Round-up

In recent updates, there has been lots of information about the new Ramblers website, area and group webpages, Walks Manager, and the new Ramblers brand. We know it's a lot, so here's a roundup.

  • The updated brand and new Ramblers website will launch publicly in January. Initially, the new website will consist of a small selection of pages and run alongside the current site, giving us an opportunity to make sure everything is working as it should before we transfer entirely to the new site.

  • In March, we'll fully transfer over to the new site, and at this point, we'll launch updated area and group webpages. We're currently running sessions with volunteers who look after their webpages to chat about how we'll work together to get them ready.

  • Area and group webpages will include a feed of walks and events from the Walks Manager, the replacement for GWEM. There's a Walks Manager update on Assemble and we'll soon contact volunteers who will be using it regularly to invite them to an information session.

  • There are already lots of new brand resources available on Assemble so you can start using them where you are from January. Check the Brand, Logos and Templates folder in the Document Hub on Assemble. You'll find all the logos, including area and group logos in different formats and the papercut shapes like the one above!
Remember the public launch of the brand and website will take place in late January 2022 so please don't use any of the resources publicly before then. And don't worry if you don't have time to make any updates at the moment - or have lots of existing resources you want to use up first. Not everyone will be ready to use the new brand when it launches publicly and that's absolutely fine.
